The Dampier Peninsula is a delight for travellers seeking a real Kimberley experience that is culturally rewarding in a beautiful environment.
Enjoy morning tea in the Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community, home to the Sacred Heart Church and its glimmering pearl shell altar.
Travel north to the One Arm Point Community and view the impressive Buccaneer Archipelago, witnessing the huge tidal flows of the Kimberley – the largest in the southern hemisphere! The Community’s own aquaculture hatchery, complete with reef fish and trocchus shell, is perched right on the tip of One Arm Point and well worth a visit. Visit Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm which is the only working pearl farm open to the public. Cygnet Bay offers an introduction to the history and cultivation of the world's finest pearls while you enjoy a picnic lunch. Afterwards board a high speed vessel for a truly remarkable experience on the Kimberley Coast. Cruise through the Sunday Island group of the Buccaneer Archipelago the enormous power of the tide is on display in the form of whirlpools and standing waves. Your experienced skipper will provide a fascinating insight into the environment and how this not only affects the people of the Kimberley coast but also how it powers the Australian pearling industry.
Reboard the vehicle for your journey back to Broome arriving at approximately 7.00pm.
For those travellers who have selected the return flight option, arrive back in Broome at approx. 5.00pm.
