Duolingo is one of the best beginner language apps out there. It offers over 20 languages, and categorised lessons for English speakers. You’ll never have to worry about getting lost, ordering food or finding a bathroom while travelling abroad again.

Google Maps is by far the best navigation app out there. It offers worldwide maps, including satellite views and street view in some areas, and directions by car, public transportation, bicycle or on foot, and speaks out loud if you need turn by turn directions while you are behind the wheel.
