    • • • Diving and snorkelling at the magnificent Rowley Shoals

    Diving, Australia Diving does not get any better than what you will experience at the Rowley Shoals off the far north-west coast of the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

    Imagine a diving adventure to one of the world's great coral atoll diving Meccas and being one of only a small number of people who will experience this, as yet, relatively undiscovered diver's paradise.

    The Rowley Shoals is a chain of coral atolls on the edge of one of the widest continental shelves in the world. The three pear-shaped atolls have shallow lagoons inhabited by corals and abundant marine life. Each atoll covers an area of around 80 to 90 square kilometres. The three shoals are strikingly similar in dimension, shape, orientation and distance apart. Each atoll is north-south orientated, pear-shaped, with the narrow end towards the north. The Shoals rise with nearly vertical sides from very deep water. Mermaid Reef, the most northerly, rises from about 440 metres, Clerke from 390 metres and Imperieuse from about 230 metres.

    Dive on one of the largest untouched coral gardens on earth. Swim amongst Giant Clams and shellfish - and handfeed Giant Potato Cod and Maori Wrasse. Discover over 200 species of coral and over 650 species of fish. With visibility in excess of 60 metres and a warm tropical climate - this is one dive adventure not to be missed, especially when the average water temperature at the Rowley shoals is 27°C.
