When you arrive at Maddarr Aboriginal Community you will be greeted by a member of the Manado family who are descendant from the Nimumburu people that occupied this area prior to the arrival of Europeans.

Join the Manado family for an exciting cultural experience where you are provided with basic but comfortable accommodation, with wood fire cooking facilities and utensils. Community members offer personalised activities and experiences such as a guided “Beach Walk” (included in this package).

Kooljaman At Cape Leveque

Kooljaman at Cape Leveque is located 220kms north of Broome on the tip of the Dampier Peninsula. Access is either by air or by 4WD. The drive up takes approximately 3 hours, it is usually quite corrugated but well worth the effort once you reach the Cape.

Kooljaman at Cape Leveque is an Aboriginal owned wilderness camp. It is a beautiful remote paradise offering a quiet place to get away from it all. Cape Leveque is a popular spot to fish, swim and snorkel or just sit back and relax.

The stunning FAMILY SAFARI TENTS are built on raised timber decking high on the hillside to take advantage of the panoramic ocean views. All are set up for families (maximum 4 persons) with a double bed and 2 single beds. Each tent has its own large balcony, a private bathroom, quality fixtures & fittings, full size fridge/freezer, all cooking equipment, linen and a gourmet gas barbecue on the veranda.

Self-cater breakfast baskets and meal packs can be delivered to all rooms.

Lunches and dinners can be taken in the restaurant (open most days from Easter to Mid October).

Kooljaman does not sell or serve alcohol though guests are welcome to bring their own.





There is a range of accommodation on offer with a minimum 2 night stay. Ask us about En-suite cabins, Log Cabins (share bathroom), Units (share bathroom). There is also Mini Safari Dome Tents, and a grassed campground.
