Travel in air-conditioned comfort and style through the scenic pindan country and tidal salt flats to reach your tour destination, the Willie Creek Pearl Farm, located 38 kilometres north of Broome.
This award-winning two hour tour at the Pearl Farm uses a variety of methods to share information on the pearling industry. Guides accompany visitors and show the process of culturing pearls from 'seeding' through to harvesting. A demonstration using a live pearl oyster is given to reveal the technical and complex operation involved in starting the pearl process. Visitors also enjoy viewing the farming operations on the water from the vessel Mutiari Putri.
Morning or afternoon tea of hame-made damper, cool drink and tea/coffee is provided on each each tour.
The Pearl Farm has its own pearl showroom featuring a stunning array of jewellery which feature Australian South Sea Pearls direct form the producer.
Willie Creek Pearl Farm is wheelchair friendly - excepting the boat cruise. In these cases an additional guide is allocated to individuals using wheelchairs and the boat cruise component of the tour is provided on the jetty, overlooking the farm operations.

Be whisked back in time to hear the extraordinary tale of legendary pearlers that begins with early European occupation of the north-west and the impacts associated with the discovery of the giant pearl shell, Pinctada maxima. It is often said that Broome’s pearling industry is as rich in culture as it is in pearls. Learn of the perils of the deep and experience first-hand what made the pearl divers’ life so hazardous and what drove so many to put their lives at risk.
You will also have the opportunity to view two of the last surviving perfectly restored pearl luggers (no sailing component to this tour). The tour is conducted both indoors and outdoors, with the majority being held in the air conditioned comfort of the Tenders Store - a mini-museum – where you are surrounded by a striking collection of Old Broome pearling memorabilia. Your tour is enhanced by some rare archival footage.

Sitting high on the hog take in the views of Dampier Creek and Roebuck Bay. Learn about Broome’s “one day war” and the Catalina flying boat wrecks at the bottom of Roebuck Bay. Visit the deep water port and Entrance Point with spectacular views of red pindan cliffs. TTake a short stroll through ancient rock formations to view Anastasia’s Pool and 130 million year old dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point. The sharp colours are a must to see. Ride on the world famous Cable Beach with a stop for an optional photo of you in the driver’s seat.
